AISDA brings together business, science, education and the expert community around a shared goal — for artificial intelligence in Bulgaria to develop sustainably, responsibly and for the benefit of society.
Our founding story
The Artificial Intelligence Sustainable Development Alliance (AISDA) is a national association of employers and entrepreneurs. The organisation was founded in 2026 with the mission of representing and defending the interests of its members and supporting the development of a favourable environment for the sustainable adoption and use of artificial intelligence technologies in Bulgaria.
The creation of the Alliance is a natural response to the need for an organisation that unites employers, entrepreneurs, universities, research organisations and experts around a shared vision for the development of artificial intelligence as a driver of competitiveness, innovation and the digital transformation of the Bulgarian economy.
At the founding assembly held on 29 July 2026 in Sofia, the organisation’s core documents were adopted, its governing bodies were elected, and its activities were set in motion. The Alliance currently unites 19 members in its General Assembly and is governed by a nine-member Management Board.
Mission
The Alliance’s mission is to be a driving force for the sustainable development of artificial intelligence in Bulgaria, uniting employers, entrepreneurs, the academic community, public institutions and experts in a shared effort to build a favourable environment for innovation, competitiveness and economic growth. Through partnership, expertise and active public dialogue, we work towards the practical adoption of artificial intelligence technologies for the benefit of business, society and the state.
Vision
Our vision is for the Alliance to establish itself as a leading national centre for expertise and representation in the field of artificial intelligence — a natural partner for business, institutions and the academic community in shaping policy, developing good practice and building a competitive and sustainable AI ecosystem in Bulgaria. We believe that through cooperation, knowledge and responsible leadership Bulgaria can be an active participant in the European and global development of artificial intelligence.

Why now?
Artificial intelligence is no longer a technology of the future but a reality that is reshaping the economy, the labour market and the way institutions and society function. Bulgaria has the potential to be an active participant in this process, but successful development requires coordination between business, science, education and state institutions.
The Alliance emerges as a response to this need. We believe that the sustainable development of AI is possible only through partnership, transparency and shared responsibility.
